Distribution has commenced for 50 tonness of dates gifted by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) .
These dates were received on April 16th and will be distributed until May 14th. In the Greater Male’ region, distribution is being carried out by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, at the Islamic Centre’s hall, from 09:30am to 13:00am hrs.
The ministry stated that residents of Male’, Hulhumale’ and Villimale’ are requested to bring their home address, electric meter number, and National Identity Card (ID) for collection.
In cities and islands, each household is allocated one packet of dates until the quota for the city or island is exhausted. Every 100 households are allotted a rate of 50 packets, with City and Island Councils organising distribution efforts, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments has stated.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre has been delivering this aid yearly since 2004. This year marks the 22nd year of such deliveries to the Maldives.
