His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has concluded his official visit to the People's Republic of Bangladesh and returned to Malé this afternoon.
The President travelled to Dhaka at the invitation of His Excellency Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the new government of Bangladesh, held on 17 February 2026.
During the visit, the President had a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, His Excellency Tarique Rahman, during which the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the close ties between the two countries.
This is President Dr Muizzu's first visit to Bangladesh since assuming office on 17 November 2023.
