Economic Minister Muhammad Saeed have said that President Yameen’s government will not impose financial burdens on the people.
Minister Saeed said tonight that, the debt of the state will increase drastically if the government is to give subsidies like previous governments, just to make people happy.
He said that, there were European countries who governed like that and now those countries are experiencing various financial problems.He said that the debts of these countries have increase so much and the people are facing so much hardship.
Minister Saeed further said that, plunging the nation into great debts just by giving subsidies to make people happy, is not something this government will do and that if that course of action is taken, it is the people who will suffer ultimately.
In addition, Minister Saeed said that government is already working with STO to find ways to minimize the price of staple food items and with the will of God they will find some ways in which the price of staple food items can still be reduced.
