Maldives’ Non-Resident Ambassador to Nepal, Aishath Azima, has presented her Letters of Credence to the President of Nepal, Ram Chandra Poudel, at a ceremony held in Kathmandu.
The credential presentation ceremony took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence and office of the President of Nepal.
During the ceremony, Nepal President congratulated Ambassador Azima on her appointment and expressed confidence that she would contribute to further strengthening the longstanding relations between the Maldives and Nepal. Meanwhile, Ambassador Azima conveyed her appreciation for the warm welcome and reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.
First Secretary at the High Commission of Maldives in India, Mohamed Najeel, also attended the ceremony.
During her official visit, Ambassador Azima is scheduled to meet Nepal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Health and Population, Foreign Secretary and other senior government officials.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Nepal were established on 1 August 1980.
