His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, to His Excellency President Mohammed Shahabuddin and His Excellency Hon’ble Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, as well as to the government and the friendly people of Bangladesh, on the auspicious occasion of the 55th Anniversary of Independence.
In separate letters, President Dr Muizzu noted that this year also marks the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Bangladesh. He highlighted that the bilateral relationship, founded on mutual respect, shared values, and common aspirations, has continued to deepen through high-level engagements and vibrant people-to-people exchanges. He expressed confidence that the current momentum of cooperation would yield even greater benefits for both nations in the years ahead.
The President further underscored the warm and cordial relations shared between the Maldives and Bangladesh, rooted in mutual commitment to regional peace and stability. He noted the long-standing cultural affinities and people-to-people ties that continue to enrich this enduring bond. He also expressed sincere appreciation for Bangladesh’s continued support and collaboration across key sectors, including trade, human development, health, education, and technical cooperation, acknowledging their significant contribution to the Maldives’ national development goals and the strengthening of bilateral engagement.
Concluding his letters, the President conveyed his best wishes for the good health and well-being of the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the people of Bangladesh.
