Police, on Monday, stated that they were investigating a case regarding child trafficking in Maldives.
Police spokesperson declined to share further information in relation to the case.
Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services also declared that they did not wish to disclose any details as of yet.
Rumours claims that a child was sold to a Maldivian couple, however there are no other official statements regarding the issue.
