State can only be governed if leader has all the power: President Yameen

A state can only be governed if the elected leader has all the powers at hand, says President Abdulla Yameen.
Speaking in HD. Nolhivaranfaru after inaugurating the island’s new harbor on Wednesday, the President said that an elected leader would be unable to govern the way the people want if he to also has to answer to other high-ranking officials.
Responding to the opposition’s claim that they would change the current system into a parliamentary one, President Yameen said that if it would only result in 'another costly election'.
The Nolhivaranfaru harbor was developed by MTCC and cost MVR 44.6 million from the state budget. The harbor measures 700 meters in length and 250 feet in width.
