President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom departed on Tuesday to visit the islands of Haa Alif Atoll and Haa Dhaal Atoll.
In the three day trip to the northern atolls, the president will inaugurate several developmental projects in the islands.
The president inaugurated the sewerage system in Haa Dhaal Atoll's Nolhivaram during the official trip. He also took part in the closing ceremony to mark the completion of the beach protection project in Haa Alif's Hoarafushi.
In Haa Alif's Ihavandhoo, President Yameen is to inaugurate the island's sewerage system.
In Dhidhdhoo, he is to inaugurate the island's clean drinking water services, attend the special ceremony to mark the completion of the beach protection project, and the completion of its road development project. The president will also inaugurate the housing project in Dhiddhoo.
Additionally, the president is to inaugurate the sewerage system in Haa Alif's Kelaa, initiate a marina style jetty in Haa Alif's Baarah, and also initiate the sewerage system of Haa Dhaal's Hanimaadhoo.
