A Maldives Police Service recruit at Dh. Vaanee ongoing training was brought to Male' City on Sunday due to worsening health conditions.
In a message shared with local media, police said a 34-year-old recruit had not responded to the wake up call around 4:21hrs at the Police Training Sector.
The recruit was transferred to the medial room for emergency medical assistance around 4:27hrs, and was taken to Dhaalu Atoll Hospital around 4:48hrs following instructions from the doctor.
The recruit was airlifted and transported to Male' City around 13:22hrs on Sunday afternoon.
Police confirmed the recruit's condition was critical and is being treated under intensive-care. As of now the reason for the recruit's worsening condition has not been ascertained.
Although the recruit was brought to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), it was not available for a comment.
