The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel has travelled to Malta on an official visit.
During the visit, the Minister will meet with his counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta, Ian Borg to enhance bilateral relations between the Maldives and Malta, as well as exchange views on key issues of mutual interest. 
The Minister is also scheduled to meet with key cabinet ministers in Malta to discuss and explore new opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the two nations. Notably, in areas of shared interest such as environmental conservation, sustainable development, the transition to renewable energy, and the enhancement of trade and tourism ties. 
Minister Khaleel is accompanied by Secretary, Dr Hala Hameed and Senior Under Secretary, Hassan Hussain Shihaab.
