Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has said that Maldivians are eager to bring home the Central Asia Volleyball Association (CAVA) Cup 2025 trophy this year. He made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony held this afternoon at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) to hand over jerseys to the Maldivian Women’s Volleyball Team for the CAVA Cup for Women 2025.
The Vice President praised the players’ talent, offered words of encouragement, and wished them success in the tournament. He also urged the public to extend their full support to the national team throughout the competition.
The Vice President said he had watched several matches played by the Maldivian team at last year’s CAVA Cup and witnessed their outstanding performance in the final. He noted that the strong display delivered by the team in front of their supporters clearly demonstrated that Maldivians deserve to bring the trophy home.
He further reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to promoting volleyball and assured the association of its full support and cooperation. The Vice President added that the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation continues to support the development of the sport in the Maldives and encourages more young people to take it up.
