Drug Smuggling increased since President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration: Nazim

Narcotics trading into the Maldives has increased, according to MNP President Mohamed Nazim, who was addressing during the party’s inaugural national convention.
He claimed that since President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih took office, these crimes has increased significantly. He continued by saying that the necessary steps to put an end to the gangs were not taken.
This has been attributed to government policy, and according to Nazim, swift action against these crimes are required. He added that this did not happen because the police were ineffective; rather, it happened because the government lacked the proper regulations to stop these crimes.
Nazim also mentioned that drug dealers who are arrested are usually released the very following day. He added that no prior administration had been able to resolve these problems, but MNP’s policies would ensure to do so.
