Aeroflot grounds international operations amid war

The flagship carrier of Russia, confirms that it will be suspending all international flights, except to neighboring Belarus, effective from 08th March, Tuesday.
The airline's decision comes as Moscow faces a myriad of Western-led sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine.
Aeroflot's move also abides the country's civil aviation authority; Rosaviatsiya's recommendation of halting "Russian airlines operating foreign-leased planes."
The authority recommended a halt on both passenger and cargo flights abroad citing the heavy risk of "rental aircraft" impoundment as part of the Western sanctions.
Furthermore, Rosaviatsiya's recommendation does not extend to Russian airlines that use Russian planes or foreign planes that are not at risk of impoundment. It also does not apply to foreign airlines from countries that have not imposed sanctions on Russia.
Meanwhile, Aeroflot in a statement said, "temporary suspension of all international flights from March 8" while it had added that their international operations have come to a halt "due to additional circumstances that prevent the performance of flights" implying the Russian civil aviation authority's warning.
