MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed says that he hopes that the incumbent Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed will oppose President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom، despite the outcome of the no-confidence motion against him.
Speaking at Raajje TV’s ‘Fala Suruhee’ via a live telecast from UK، Ali Waheed said the past should not be considered in such dire situations، and that the party should welcome Jameel.
He said he hopes Jameel would stand against Yameen despite the outcomes of the no confidence motion filed against Jameel in the People’s Majlis.
In addition he noted that the impeachment of Jameel as a ‘bonus point’ for MDP and opposition. “It is a bonus for us، whoever opposes president Yameen.”
