Maumoon postpones his visit to Bangalore amid ‘critical situation’

Former President and the President of ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM)، Maumoon Abdul Gayoom، has postponed his visit to Bangalore، which was scheduled for today.
In a tweet posted this afternoon، former president said that ‘to show PPM’s unwavering support to President Abdulla Yameen at this critical time’، he has postponed his trip to Bangalore.
Former President postponed his trip to Bangalore which was scheduled for today، while the vice president، Ahmed Adeeb، has been taken in by the security forces earlier this afternoon.
Adeeb was arrested upon his arrival to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA)، after concluding his official visit to China. He has been taken to Dhoonidho.
Police has advised caution on any unrest that may erupt in capital Male’ City، following the arrest of Vice President.
