Secretary General of SAARC، Arjun B. Thapa had a courtesy visit to the President of Maldives، Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Thursday. 
In the courtesy visit held at President’s Office on Thursday، President Yameen congratulated Arjun Thapa for becoming the new Secretary General of SAARC.
President Yameen has highlighted the important role of SAARC to strengthen the bonds of countries in the region and improve social and economics of the countries.
Further، President Yameen and SAARC SG discussed on ways to improve the administration of SAARC and how to further widen the tasks of SAARC which are being carried out now.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon، Foreign Secretary Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed and Director of Maldives in SAARC Secretariat Fathmath Najwa attended the meeting.
