Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) held a motorcycle rally again today، calling to release the detained MDP leader and former President Mohamed Nasheed who is being tried for terrorism charges، accused of unlawfully detaining criminal court chief justice Judge Abdull Mohamed.
MDP held their bike-rally called “E goalhin mi goalhin” on Wednesday evening. The opposition party started their protest ‘on two wheels’ from Usfasgandu Area، and rallied in several streets of capital Male’. Reportedly about over 80 bikes were used in the rally.
The opposition members in the rally stopped near PG Office، like they did on Tuesday، and called for the immediate resignation of PG Muhtaz Muhsin. Reportedly، some protesters were calling to ‘hang PG Muhtaz’.
The fourth hearing of Nasheed is tabled tonight at 22:00 at Criminal Court.
