Bank of Maldives has partnered with the Cancer Society of Maldives (CSM)to hold breast cancer screenings for its staffat the Bank’s Head Office. The program is supported by the Ali FulhuThuthu Foundation (AFT).
BML staff and their spouses will be examined by a team of doctors over the course of the next two days. The screening involves a clinical examination by a doctor, and, if needed, an ultrasound scan. Information sessions highlighting the importance of self-examination and early detection will be conducted by CSM’s team of experts.
This is the first in a monthly series of free cancer screenings that CSM will hold in partnership with large organisations across the country.
BML People and Change Director Sahar Waheed said, “We commend this great initiative taken by the Cancer Society of Maldives and are grateful to be the first organisation to commence the cancer screening program. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the Maldives, and given the importance of early detection, programs such as this are really important. We are pleased by the positive response from our staff.”
