Former President Nasheed have said that it is not wise to take green tax from tourists holidaying in guesthouses.
He tweeted today saying that guest house owners are making little profit and they wont be able to make ends meet if they are taxed right now.

However he did not explain why he think that guest house owners are making less profits these days. He also did not say whether tourism is badly affected because resort owners have to spend a lot on marketing due to the boycott campaigns done abroad by MDP.
Parliament have today passed to take 3 dollars as green tax from tourists at guest houses. Since last November a green tax was imposed on tourists holidaying at resorts too.
