Minister Mundhu to be appointed as Japanese Ambassador

Former Minister Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu) has been nominated as the Ambassador to Japan and his nomination has been sent to Parliament for review and vetting.
A Government official reported that the nomination has been sent to Parliament for vetting. Ahmed Khaleel is serving as the Ambassador to Japan. However, his tenure has reached full term.
Mundhu, a senior Government official in both President Maumoon and President Yameen's cabinets had also played a pivotal role in DRP and PPM. He had served as spokesperson during President Maumoon's cabinet, Youth Minister in Dr. Mohamed Waheed's presidency and as Minister at President's Office during President Abdullah Yameen's presidency.
