Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the opposition coalition’s presidential candidate, has said that he aims to visit all islands of Maldives during his campaign.
Solih is currently in Addu City in his first campaign trip since being elected as the candidate of the opposition coalition parties.
While the presidential election is in September, Solih on Saturday said he and his running mate, Kaashidhoo MP Faisal Naseem, and their campaign team will be visiting all the islands to hear the concerns of the people.
Solih said that their goal of visiting all the islands can be accomplished by splitting up the teams.
He also said that he had seen immense support for the opposition coalition upon his arrival to Addu City and that he has no doubt that the opposition will receive the City’s majority vote.
He also vowed to visit Addu City again before the elections and hold a large opposition coalition ceremony, adding that he did not hold such a ceremony in his current visit since his running mate was elected after his arrival.
In his ongoing trip to Addu and Fuvahmulah cities, Solih began his door-to-door campaign in Maradhoo-Feydhoo on Saturday. At the same time, his spokesperson, Mariya Ahmed Didi, began going door-to-door in capital Male’ City.
