Dr Azeema Adam, the former governor of MMA
Governor of the Maldives central bank, Dr Azeema Adam, on Wednesday resigned from her position.
Speaking to the staff of Maldives Monetary Authority early Wednesday, Dr Azeema stated that she was satisfied with the role she had played in MMA and that her decision stemmed from changes to her personal life. She explained that since her husband is to work abroad in the near future, she does not feel that choosing to remain the Maldives would be a fair decision on her part.
Dr Azeema Adam had been serving as governor at MMA for three years.
