The legal team of the former President Mohamed Nasheed had appealed in High Court to nullify the Criminal Court’s ruling to remand Nasheed in police custody until the end of his trial.
Former President Nasheed was arrested on terrorism charges on Sunday، and at the remand hearing on Monday، Criminal Court ruled to keep Nasheed in Police custody until the end of his trial.
Though Nasheed’s senior legal counselor Hisaan has said on a tweet that they have appealed Nasheed’s detention order in the court، she did not say if the court had accepted the appeal.
Criminal Court had tabled the second hearing of former President Nasheed’s case on Thursday night.
Following the arrest of Nasheed، the opposition has been angered and are protesting in Male’ city every night.
