RDC awarded contract to expand Hulhumale’ Hospital wards

The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been awarded the contract to expand the medical and paediatric wards of the Hulhumale’ Hospital.
The agreement for the project was signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Male’ Group of Hospitals, Abdul Razzaq Haleem, and RDC’s Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem.
The expansion will add 28 new beds to the hospital, including four beds to the Medical High Dependency Unit, fifteen beds to the General Ward, and nine beds to the Children’s Ward. While the Children’s Ward currently has six beds, the new addition will increase the bed number to fifteen. The total number of beds available at the General Ward will also increase to 27.
The goal of the project is to address the hospital’s bed shortage. While the practical work for the project is set to begin next week, RDC aims to finish the project within 90 days.
