The achievements of Sh. Kanditheemu in futsal and football from 2015 to 2025 have placed the island among the most successful futsal communities in the Maldives. Over these years, the island’s teams have won numerous tournaments, repeatedly bringing home trophies and earning recognition across the region.
These accomplishments are credited to the courage of the players, the guidance of skilled coaches, and the united support of the island’s community.
Kanditheemu’s modern era of futsal success began with the Atoll Championship title at the National Hardware Futsal Cup in 2015 — a defining moment that sparked a new chapter for the island.
Following this breakthrough, Kanditheemu established itself as a strong contender in the Golden Futsal Challenge, one of the most competitive futsal tournaments in the region.
After securing the Atoll Championship in 2016, Kanditheemu continued its winning streak by claiming the same title again in 2018, 2022, and 2024, underscoring its consistent strength and competitive spirit.
The island also excelled in the Mila Uthuru Futsal Tournament, a major competition for northern islands. Kanditheemu won the championship in 2023, and once again claimed the title in 2025, reaffirming its position as one of the leading futsal teams in the northern region.
Kanditheemu’s strong performance extended further this year with its victory in the Kulhudhuffushi Championship, held in August. Competing as the only team from Sh. Atoll in a tournament hosted in another atoll  and winning it  demonstrated the team’s ability to succeed on bigger stages.
These achievements collectively highlight that Kanditheemu is a formidable force in the Maldivian futsal landscape. The dedication of the island’s youth, the support of the community, and the contributions of coaches play a central role in this continued success.
With so many victories earned over the years, Kanditheemu’s name is firmly etched in the story of Maldivian futsal.
