Encreare Pvt Ltd (Encrea), a homegrown creative and technology solutions company, has been named Creative MSME of the Year, recognising its outstanding contribution to the development of the Maldivian creative industry.
Founded in 2019 by Hussain Jinan and Shazif Adam, Encrea has evolved from a boutique studio into a dynamic force blending design thinking with digital innovation. The duo first met as organisers of Techstars Startup Weekend 2017, sharing a vision for purposeful, strategy-driven brands, a vision that quickly grew into Encrea’s hallmark of embedding values, strategy, and storytelling into every project.

Over the years, Encrea has spearheaded major national initiatives, including the SAFF Championship 2021 branding, the National ID Card redesign, and the Addu Tourism brand launched at WTM London 2024. The company also led Vara Expo 2025 branding, supported BCC’s digital transformation (Kumevi), developed the DALA system for NDMA, and introduced Agumagu, a price monitoring portal for the Ministry of Economic Development.
With the addition of Abdulla Shafeeu (Abo) as partner in 2022, Encrea expanded its creative horizon by establishing the Dhivehi Type Foundry. Through initiatives such as the Akuru Store, the Maldives’ first marketplace for Thaana fonts, the team continues to champion local language preservation, cultural identity, and creative empowerment.
The Encrea studio team receives the Creative MSME of the Year award from Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed on November 29, 2025.
Looking ahead, Encrea plans to expand Akuru and launch the A Design Thinkers Festival, furthering its mission to elevate Maldivian creativity through purposeful, culturally grounded innovation.
Encrea was nominated in the judges’ category alongside Publicity Bureau and Toddy, ultimately securing the award for its pioneering role in shaping the nation’s creative landscape.
