Maldives issues warning over sea swells

National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) Wednesday urged caution over the possibility of sea swells during high tide in the central and southern islands of the archipelago.
NDMC in a statement said the danger of sea swells would be highest during high tide.
However, the MET office denied links to storms and tsunami.
NDMC had urged the public to be prepared for possible sea swells by securing electronic items and putting up sandbags outside the entrance.
