In a statement by the President’s Office said that former Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP) Secretary General and current Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) member, Abdul Rasheed Nafiz had been appointed as the Chairman of the Transport Authority. Also Ali Naseer Mohamed had been appointed as the additional under secretary of the Foreign Ministry. One month after the new government assumed power, Spokesperson Abbas Adil Riza had claimed that no additional State and Deputy Ministers would be appointed. At the time Abbas made the claim, there had been 15 State Ministers and 15 Deputy Ministers which had been agreed to by the pro-government political parties, Abbas had said. However, the government has continued to make State and deputy minister level appointments since the claims by the Spokesperson.
