Under the Bank of Maldives (BML) ‘Mulhi Raajje ah BML ATM’ initiative, launched in 2024, the bank has achieved its goal of installing ATM services in all residential islands in Huvadhu Atoll on Thursday.
ATMs were opened in Gaafu Alif atoll; Kondey, Kanduhulhudhoo, and in Gaafu Dhaalu atoll; Fiyoaree, Nadella, Hoadedhdhoo, Madaveli and Rathafandhoo.
The ATMs on each island were inaugurated by Construction Minister Dr. Abdullah Mutalib at special ceremonies held for the purpose.
The ceremony was attended by BML Chairman Ahmed Ali Habeeb, CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef and senior officials of the bank.
The ATMs, which are open 24 hours a day, will provide basic services such as withdrawal and deposit. BML aims to open ATMs in every residential island across Maldives.
With the opening of the ATMs in Huvadhu atoll, BML will have established 42 branches, 163 self-service centers and 222 ATMs.
