A man who purchased goods from multiple shops at GA. Villingilli, by sending fake payment slips, has been arrested from Male’.
According to the Police said Mohamed Sharif, 37, G. Rosy, Male’, was arrested under a court order on Friday.
He was arrested on suspicion of sending fake payment slips to purchase goods from multiple shops in Villingili. The Police said their investigation uncovered that Sharif had obtained goods valued at MVR 1,500 from multiple shops by sending fake slips.
Sharif has been remanded in custody for eight days upon presentation before the court.
The case is under further investigation by the Police.
This case follows another case involving a couple who had ordered food worth thousands of Rufiyaa through an online app by sending fake payment slips.
