A youth has been arrested in connection with the case of an 18-year-old woman who was allegedly held against her will and physically assaulted inside a home in Male’ City.
In a message shared with the media on Tuesday, the Police said they received a report at approximately 18:11pm regarding an 18-year-old woman who was allegedly held against her will and physically assaulted inside a home in Male’ City.
The authority shared an update on the case on Thursday, revealing the arrest of a male youth in connection with the case.
The suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Ahmed Ahil Munaz, H. Four Season, K. Male’.
The Police said Ahil has been remanded in custody for 15 days upon presentation before the court.
The case is under further investigation by the Police.
This incident is one of three assault cases reported this week. On Wednesday, police received reports of two young girls being sexually abused, and they also confirmed that a woman who sought help on the street Sunday evening was found to have been sexually assaulted after being taken to the hospital.
