BML advises customers to be mindful of emails sent from fake address

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has said that its internet banking customers are being contacted using a fake email address.
The bank said in a statement today that emails are being sent to its customers from the address [email protected], asking to validate internet banking accounts.
BML said that the address is not associated with BML in any way, and advised customers not to respond to emails sent from unknown addresses.
BML also advised customers not to send their account and cash card information via email. The bank informed that it would not send access codes to account owners via email, and advised customers to be mindful of such matters.
