Civil Court orders MCS to facilitate family visits to Nasheed once a week

The Civil Court has ordered Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) to facilitate two-hour visits by the family to the former president Mohamed Nasheed، once a week.
Former President Nasheed’s family filed a case to the Civil Court stating that visits to Nasheed have been put on halt.
The lawsuit filed by Nasheed’s younger brother، Nazim Abdul Sattar، claims that although Correctional Service was allowing family visits to Nasheed once every week since he was transferred to Maafushi Prison، MCS has informed on 8th September that family visits to ex-president Mohamed Nasheed can no longer be entertained.
The lawsuit by Nazim also appealed the Civil Court to order to allow him to meet with his elder brother.
