Appeal made to Home Ministry for MRI scan of Nasheed

Once again، because the process of doing MRI scan of former president Mohamed Nasheed is being delayed، an appeal has been made to the Home Ministry to complete the formalities by the government in order to do an MRI scan of ex-president Nasheed.
The letter signed and sent by Nasheed’s lawyer، Al-Ustad Hassan Latheef to the Home Ministry says that although appeals have been made a number of times to the government to get an MRI scan of Nasheed done according to the doctor’s suggestions، it has not been done so far.
Lawyer noted in his letter that the government is being negligent in health matters of ex-president Nasheed.
“After consulting doctor on the night of 19th August، doctor suggested him to rest in a stress free environment. And conduct an MRI scan after two weeks. Doctor suggested that further treatment can be sought after receiving the results of MRI scan. Two weeks time got due on the 2nd of this month”، statement released by President Nasheed’s Office says.
After two months of home detention، President Nasheed was transferred back to prison on 23rd August 2015.
