PPM supporters call out for pacing up prosecution of Nasheed

PPM carried out a protest today calling for speeding up former President and MDP leader Mohamed Nasheed’s over his terrorism charges.
The protest kicked off today evening in front of Prosecutor General’s office in Majeedhee Magu.
Around 150 protesters gathered at the site، calling out to pace up Nasheed’s trial and deliver the final verdict. The PPM-supporting mob had gathered near the residence of Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin، and continued chanting for the conclude Nasheed’s trial on a fast note.
Meanwhile، prime opposition، MDP had also come out on the streets for their protests، the protesters on MDPs’ end kicked-off today’s rally as a bike ride، and they kept a constant chant of “Free President Nasheed” loud.

Both mobs met at the intersection of Janavaree Hingun and Majeedhee magu، where traffic Police officials directed the PPM-protesters in to Janavaree Hingun from Majeedhee Magu، while they let MDP protesters to go straight، thus avoiding any physical conflicts.
However، both MDP-led and PPM-led supporters had engaged in an intense verbal fight during their brief encounter at the Majeedhee-Janavaree joint.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed، who is currently prosecuted by government for terrorism charges will have his 4th hearing of the trial tonight at 22:00hrs.
