Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched a special promotion with MVR 100K cash prize for customers making transactions via the “Masveriya Card” from 10 December 2019 to 10 March 2020. The promotion is held on the occasion of fishermen’s day which is celebrated on 10th December of every year.
The Masveriyaa Card is offered under a “Masdhoani Account” – a financial scheme that offers fishermen in the Maldives a digital wallet to make financial transactions. The Card can be used at all POS terminals, ATM and Cash Agents as well as for online transactions and international money transfer.
Companies that purchase fish will receive a customized Bank of Maldives online portal through which payments can be made to fishing vessels as part of the digital wallet. This, in turn, will reduce the requirement for cash. Fishing vessels will be able to use the Card for the purchase of fuel and ice and to transfer payments to the vessel crew’s Masveriyaa Card.
