Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday confirms that an investigation is underway for a sexual harassment case against a senior official of the ministry.
This statement came amid rumours circulating on social media about a female staff working in the ministry being harassed by a senior official. Various social media users have been expressing anger and calling on the authorities to investigate this matter immediately.
As per the statement, the case has been raised to a special committee that investigates all the complaints on sexual harassment and abuse, within the ministry that investigates such cases.
Additionally, the foreign ministry said that they are working to strengthen various policies related to this in order to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
