Assistance provided by King Salman to teach Arabic and Islam in Maldives are numerous: Education Minister

Education Minister Dr.Aishath Shihaam has thanked King of Saudi Arabia Salman Bin Abdul Azeez for the numerous assistance he has provided Maldives to teach Arabic and Islamic studies in Maldives.
Speaking at a ceremony held at Iskandar School to award certificates to 17 teachers from Saudi Arabia who completed an orientation program, Dr.Shihaam said that Saudi Arabia donated more than 100,000 books to be used in schools of Maldives last year. She said that many other materials like Arabic dictionaries will be donated this year as well.
Education Minister said that, in addition to these things, the King’s decision to give 300 scholarships to Maldivian students is also a great assistance to Maldives. She noted that the Maldives receives these assistances because of the close relations between President Yameen and King Salman.
The minister noted that the cabinet of Saudi Arabia passed to develop a special center in Maldives to teach Arabic language. In addition the minister thanked Saudi Ambassador to Maldives Badr Al-Kohail for his role in facilitating Saudi assistance to Maldives.
