Maldives National Party (MNP)’s first congress is decided to be held this month.
A newsletter by the party states that the congress will be held from 23-24th in Thajuddin School.
The presidents and vice-presidents of the party branches will be attending the congress. The National Executive Council, Parliamentary Groups, Councils, and Women’s Development Committee members of the party will also participate in the congress.
The Constitution of MNP will be discussed and proposed amendments during the Congress.
Representatives would then have the chance to suggest Constitutional modifications. Elections will also be held for a few party positions.
The main policies of MNP is supposed to be decided on this congress as well. The date of the primary elections to decide next year’s presidential candidate will also be set during the congress.
Former defense minister and Dhangetho Constituency MP Mohamed Nazim founded MNP, the most recent political party to be founded in the Maldives.
