Han Solo spin-off movie directed by ’21 Jump Street’ director-duo

Disney has been promising a series of spinoffs to the powerful and iconic Star Wars franchise it had acquired when they bought LucasFilm. Now they are set to make spinoff movies of one of the most loved characters from Star Wars، the young gun-trotting Han Solo.

The spinoffs movie or perhaps movies will be directed by the famous director-duo who gained fame from directing movies likes “21 Jump Street” and “The Lego Movie،” Christopher Miller and Phil Lord.
The Han Solo standalone is slated for a May 25، 2018، release date and will be written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan. The movie will be focusing on the life of young Han Solo، and how he became a smuggler، thief and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley.
Writer-duo’s Lawrence Kasdan is not a new face to the Star Wars movie، as he had helm the writing responsibilities of franchise entries of Star Wars، which includes “The Empire Strikes Back”، “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens”. Jon، had written and directed “The First Time” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival، and “In the Land of Women” as well as series like “Freaks and Geeks” and “Dawson’s Creek.”
“This is the first film we’ve worked on that seems like a good idea to begin with. We promise to take risks، to give the audience a fresh experience، and we pledge ourselves to be faithful stewards of these characters who mean so much to us،” the 21 Jump Street directors said in a statement، adding “This is a dream come true for us. And not the kind of dream where you’re late for work and all your clothes are made of pudding، but the kind of dream where you get to make a film with some of the greatest characters ever، in a film franchise you’ve loved since before you can remember having dreams at all.”

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens، slated for a December 2015 release، it is still days away from the Han Solo-centered movie to hit the theaters، till then we can only wait.
