Dr. Ibrahim Didi has called all resort managements not to stop their staffs from participating in the Mayday protest to be held next Friday.
Dr. Didi made this remark speaking at the “Maldivians against tyranny” rally held at Villimale’ last night.
He said that the freedom to protest for ones right is a basic right granted by the constitution for all individuals. He said that no one should obstruct anyone from fulfilling this right but should give the opportunity for it.
Dr. Didi said that if the resort management does not provide transport services for the staff to come to Male’ to participate in the Mayday protest then dhonis will be sent to those resorts to help them come to Male’.
In addition to this, Dr. Didi said that it is shameful for the government to take money from the people and yet use fear mongering tactics to intimidate the people.
He said that the claims made by the government officials that they will confront with the people shows how despotic the government now is.
