The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract to construct a new building for the Dhangethi Health Centre.
The agreement was signed on Monday at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health, with State Minister Ismail Shareef signing the agreement on behalf of the Ministry, and MTCC’s Managing Director Ahmed Saudee representing the company.
According to the Health Ministry, the new facility will be a three-storey building, featuring an X-ray department, a fully equipped emergency room, outpatient (OPD) rooms, four inpatient wards, a laboratory, and several private rooms.
The project, valued at USD 2.26 million, has been awarded to MTCC with a completion deadline of 420 days.
In the past week, the government has awarded a series of infrastructure development projects in the health sector in various islands across the Maldives. These include both the upgrading of existing health centres and the construction of new facilities.
