Explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort: No Maldivians injured

At least 10 people have been killed and 24 injured in a car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi, India on Monday.
According to India Today, the blast occurred near Gate No. 1 of the metro station. The Delhi Fire Department received the first report at 6:55 PM local time. Several vehicles caught fire in the densely packed area, triggering panic during rush hour.
Indian media reports confirm that forensic teams are now on site to determine the cause of the explosion. The entire Red Fort area has been sealed off, and security alerts have been issued in Delhi, Kolkata, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
No Maldivians were injured in the incident. There are few Maldivians residing in the vicinity of Red Fort, which is primarily a tourist and heritage zone.
India remains a popular destination for Maldivians seeking healthcare, holidays, and education. The Red Fort itself, a UNESCO World Heritage site once home to Mughal emperors, draws thousands of visitors each year.
