First Lady, Madam Fathimath Ibrahim delivered her speech at the High-level Forum of the “PERMATA International Conference: Children beyond Tomorrow” in Malaysia this morning.
During her speech, Madam Fathimath Ibrahim applauded the initiative by First Lady, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in hosting such a conference and emphasized the prominence of Quality Education to Shape a Nation’s Future. Madam Fathimath Ibrahim further briefed the participants on the developments of the Maldivian Education Sector and the importance of an inclusive education system for the ease of access to quality education by children with disabilities.
During her speech Madam Fathimath Ibrahim also reiterated the impact of children for the future by stating:
“Children are indeed our hope for a more peaceful and prosperous tomorrow, both nationally and globally. Love your children unconditionally, protect them, educate them, and guide them to become empathetic, able and patriotic individuals.”
The Conference aims to create greater awareness and understanding on the development of young individuals and their optimal growth by sharing:
i. The global developments and efforts that impact children and childhood today;
ii. How childhood experiences contribute to the sustainability and well-being of communities and nation building;
iii. The importance of innovation, collaboration, and best practices in promoting positive childhood outcomes; and
iv. PERMATA’s initiatives in children’s education and development.’
The Conference brings together individuals from around the world and across disciplines to explore the role of childhood in ensuring a positive human future during a time of rapid change.
This includes individuals such as academics, researchers, policy makers, government officials, teachers, parents, practitioners and NGOs who are interested in the following areas: Early Childhood Education and Care, Gifted and Talented, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Youth at-Risk, Children’s Health and Medical Care.
