Ali Waheed، Imran and Ameen’s case presented for prosecution again

Cases against 4 opposition leaders have been sent for the second time for prosecution at PG office over the Mayday event involvement and provocative speech.
The four individuals arrested over Mayday event for their provocative speeches، that may lead for civil unrest، are MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed، Adaalath Party leader Sheikh Imran Abdulla and Jumhooree Party deputy leader Ameen Ibrahim. Ameen was released after his remand case was appealed to High Court.
However both Ali Waheed and Imran Abdullah are still under police custody.
According to a Police Media official، the cases against Ali Waheed، Sheikh Imran Abdullah and Sobah Rasheed of Jumhooree Party has been presented to PG Office again.
However it is still unconfirmed if the cases will be approved from PG office or not.
PG Office has appealed the case of Ameen’s release to Supreme court. While Ali Waheed was granted a 7-day period on his remand with Imran Abdullah receiving 10-day extension، both men were first remanded for 15 days.
Police had requested from PG Office to prosecute a total of 143 individuals arrested from Mayday event. However PG Office had accepted 128 of the cases while rejecting 15 of these، with 30 individuals getting pressed with charges out of the cases accepted by PG.
