Sea Life Global contracts the development of 278 flats and office complex to a Chinese contractor

Sea Life Global has contracted a Chinese company to develop 278 flats and office complex out of the 3000 flats that are to be developed by Sea Life Global. The project was awarded to Minmetals twenty third Metalogical Construction Company Privavte Limited (MCC).
The contract awarding ceremony was held at Dharubaaruge tonight. The ceremony’s chief guests were Housing Minister Dr.Muhammad Muizzu and Chinese Ambassador to Maldives Mr.Wang Fukang.
Speaking at the ceremony the VP of MCC Yaan Zing Chuan said that they have been involved in housing development projects in Hulhumale’ and some other atolls since 2010. He said that they successfully carried out a 1500 housing unit development project, Hulhumale’ barbecue area development project and some street development projects as well.
Speaking at the ceremony the MD of Sea Life Global Ahmed Moosa said that this is part of the mega housing development project started by President Yameen.
Ahmed Moosa said that this project is divided into three phases and those who bought the 1000 flats in the first phase will get their flats in early 2018. He said that the project was delayed because there were some delays with HDC. “ We got only 2 months to design 18 towers. We finished it on time” said Moosa.
Under the same project, development of 350 housing units were awarded to Coral Holdings Private Limited of Lanka in August 2016.
