The Maldivian Ministers who are currently visiting Dubai has visited the “Jebel Ali” port and free trade zone.
The convoy of Ministers in Dubai includes Tourism Minister Ahmed Adheeb، Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed، Finance Minister Abdulla Jihaad، Youth Minister Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal and Attorney General Mohamed Ali.
The five Ministers had visited “Jebel Ali” port and free trade zone today.
Media’s has reported that Ministers were briefed about “Jabal Ali” port and free trade zone by Dubai Ports World’s chairman and vice chairman.
The visit to Dubai by Maldivian Ministers is to sign an MOU with Dubai Ports World (DP World) for the development of Thilafushi trade port along with a free trade zone.
While speaking at the Economic and Youth Council press conference held، Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb confirmed an estimated cost of USD 350 to 400 million will be inclined with the project.
Furthermore، he assured the employees working at the site currently will not be laid off، and government will give prime focus on selecting locals for executives’ posts of the port once it is completed.
Dubai ports operated more than 60 ports worldwide.
