On the occasion of World Vegan Day, W Maldives announced its year-long Vegan Menu curated in collaboration with celebrity chef Priyanka Naik.
W Maldives launched the “Go W-egan” menu, available exclusively from the resort until October 2023.
Naik, the Food Network champion and author of “The Modern Tiffin” was recently at W Maldives for a unique Marriott Bonvoy Moments experience. During her stay, Naik visited nearby local farms at Thoddhoo where she hand-picked ingredients and consciously built dishes in her menu around readily available and sustainably sourced fruits and vegetables.
During the special Marriot Bonvoy Moments stay at W Maldives, Chef Naik worked closely with chefs stationed in the property while preparing the menu, including chefs Baka and Rishma.
As part of the four-day activation, Chef Naik held a special sustainable cooking class for the guests, giving them tips and tricks on “how to make the best use of leftovers”.
Highlights of the special menu include delicacies such as ‘Spiced-Up Watermelon Mint Salad in Tahini Lemon Crema’, ‘Double Textured Spicy Blistered Eggplant in Peanut Sauce’ and ‘Chili Sesame Dressed Charred Sweet Potato with Fresh Coriander and Toasted Almonds’ along with several other “must-try” dishes.
Chef Priyanka Naik is a self-taught Indian-American vegan chef, raised in New York. Known for being an avid traveler, she has already been to nearly forty global destinations to gain insight into multicultural gastronomical approaches.
