Foreign Minister arrives in Türkiye for OIC Council

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdulla Khaleel arrived in Foreign Ministers arrives in Türkiye on Saturday to take part in the Organization for Islamic Corporation's (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.
In a post on X, the minister confirmed arriving in Türkiye's capital Istanbul, where he was welcomed by Ambassador of Maldives to Türkiye, Lieutenant Genearl (Retd) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef.
The minister also expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Turkish government. He also said that he would work on strengthening the relations with other allied Islamic nations at the OIC council.

He stressed on advocating for the "most pressing issues facing our Ummah."
The Organization for Islamic Corporation consists of 57 member states. The Maldives joined the organization in 1976.
Earlier in April this year, the Maldives Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Sareer and OIC's Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha met for discussions in order to strengthen the relations between the Maldives and OIC.
