A woman from HA.Uligan has given birth to her child on the sea ambulance while being transported to HA.Dhihdhoo for labour.
A member of Uligan council said today، that the woman was about to go into labour last night at dawn، and she was hurriedly being transported to HA Atoll Hospital in Dhihdhoo when she gave birth to her child around 4:30 last night.
The sea ambulance was reportedly in Dhihdhoo around 15 minutes later.
He also said that the mother and her child’s health was fine، but the child was given birth 10 days prior to the due date doctors had given before. He said that while being born، the child had difficulties in breathing، and turned pale as well. But all was fine after being taken to HA Dhihdhoo Atoll Hospital، he said.
Council member said that Uligan’s health centre has no labour facilities so every time a woman has to give birth، she has to be transported to the Atoll Hospital.
